Why did you join Carla+ Curls?
I joined Carla+ Curls because I think it's a great initiative, I think in our time with our busy lives, if we have something that's just going to empower women and mothers to take care of their own crown and their daughter's crown and have all this information at my fingertips, it makes me proud to be part of this movement.
What is your experience in the industry?
So my background in this industry is that I've been doing hairstyling for over 20 years now. I don't want to say too much because it'll give up on my age but I've been doing it for a while and my expertise is that I have two hair salons that specialize in natural hair I have been a natural hair specialist myself for about almost 10 years now I have curly hair I have developed my own products which that I found that everything I found either professionally or in the drugstore was not nourishing enough not hydrating enough. So I think I have a long store of knowledge and tips to share with you.
What is your mission?
My mission is to help you fall in love with your hair, you and everything that represents you. My mission is to help you shine and find a way to keep your crown beautiful and make it easy for you, make it easier for moms, make it easier for kids and all around, and help people love their wreaths.
What challenges have you faced in promoting natural hair?
I faced a lot of challenges when I wanted to promote curly hair, one of them is finding staff for my salons because you know at hairdressing school we don't don't really teach the curly hair method that's one of them the second is finding appropriate products because the natural essence of our hair needs more moisture and a lot of those products that are available to us are either too moisturizing or too heavy or not enough, so I had my common challenges getting my hair done when I was young - before I became a hairdresser - it was hard because when you walk into a hair salon with your afro or your crown and no one has ever washed curly hair, curly hair like mine, my texture, feeling like they're being rejected because they don't know how to care of my hair or even how to wash my hair. dolescent, I had challenges because I had trouble fitting in. I didn't know where I was with this crown and to have people, business people believe in our projects - sometimes they don't understand how for women like me, women like you, our hair is so important and it is difficult for us to find the right hairdresser and the right products and the professional environment that we deserve are going to get our hair done.

Your favorite feature?
Definitely my favorite feature is the videos because they are so interactive and you can stop and you can rewind and you can write things down so the videos are definitely fantastic.
What do you think Carla+ Curls can accomplish?
I think the Carla Curls app is going to be something international, I think it's going to be something that everyone is talking about, I think it's going to be a conversation starter when you go to a restaurant with your girlfriends and you're talking about hair and you say, "You don't have the Carla Curls app? Girl, let me tell you! You can find everything and anything on all questions. I watched this video the other day with my daughter and now every time I do my hair we watch a video" that's what I think the Carla Curls app is going to be. I think no matter where you are, whatever your age, you will find something that will help you with your crown.
